Nantong Haizhiyang is equipped with 6 sets of batch-type anaerobic pyrolysis technology equipment, and its wide applicability has consolidated the company's hazardous waste treatment capacity. The company's annual licensed hazardous waste operation volume is as high as 73,700 tons, covering 11 categories including waste mineral oil, waste acid, hydrocarbon/water mixtures, waste emulsion, phenol-containing waste, ether-containing waste, organohalides, organic solvent waste, dyes, coatings (including paints), and organic resins. Among them, the company's annual treatment capacity of hazardous waste packaging containers (HW 49) reaches 1 million; the annual treatment and utilization capacity of mineral oil-containing waste (HW 08) is 1,800 tons; and the annual treatment and utilization capacity of waste emulsion (HW 09) is 10,000 tons.

 

Oxygen-free Pyrolysis Technology Leads, Realizing "Turning Waste into Treasure" in Hazardous Waste Treatment


Facing the era's requirements of green circular development and carbon peak and carbon neutrality, Nantong Haizhiyang has successfully explored a resource utilization-oriented system solution for hazardous waste treatment. Among them, the batch-type oxygen-free pyrolysis technology equipment (BPH-15 furnace type) provided by Vary Tech adopts an independent hot blast stove heating structure design, with a single set of processing capacity up to 15 tons and a working cycle of 1.5 furnaces per day, which improves the treatment efficiency and becomes a key tool for Nantong Haizhiyang to realize "turning hazardous waste into treasure".

In the project planning stage, Vary Tech's project service team fully considered the balance between the factory building size and comprehensive thermal energy utilization, and innovatively adopted a double-layer vertical layout, which maximized space saving and effectively balanced efficient heat supply and heat loss.



Vary Tech's oxygen-free pyrolysis technology equipment has been included in the National Advanced and Applicable Technologies and Equipment for Industrial Resource Comprehensive Utilization. Compared with incineration, oxygen-free pyrolysis technology can pyrolyze organic hazardous waste in an oxygen-free environment, avoiding the generation of harmful substances such as dioxins from the source, effectively blocking the migration of heavy metals, and the flue gas emission is only 1/10 of that of incineration, truly realizing the reduction, harmlessness, and resource utilization of hazardous waste.



Under pyrolysis conditions, the macromolecular chains of organic hazardous waste are broken through thermal chemical reactions, producing high-value pyrolytic carbon and pyrolytic gas. The pyrolytic gas generates oil-based pyrolytic liquid after passing through the oil collection and purification system, and the non-condensable gas enters the combustion chamber for heat supply. The high-temperature flue gas generated by combustion is absorbed by the main pyrolysis furnace for most of the heat energy, and then enters the advanced flue gas treatment system to ensure up-to-standard emission without secondary pollution. The pyrolysis process realizes the stable transformation of heavy metals from exchangeable state to residue state in the reducing environment, effectively solidifies heavy metals, fundamentally solves the "hazardous" property of hazardous waste, and truly achieves environmental friendliness.


Pyrolysis Products with Great Prospects, Opening a New Era of Hazardous Waste Resource Utilization

The pyrolytic carbon and pyrolytic oil formed by hazardous waste pyrolysis have broad application market prospects, truly tapping the "green treasure" of hazardous waste.

Pyrolytic carbon can be mixed into resin-based composite materials as a filler or reinforcing agent to produce various building materials, such as recycled plates, floor tiles, sound insulation materials, and decorative components, which not only reduces costs but also improves the physical properties of the materials. In addition, due to its color characteristics, pyrolytic carbon has the potential to be used as a black pigment, which can be used in the production of water-based coatings, color pastes, or as a coloring agent for building materials, and is a high-quality substitute for traditional carbon black pigments.

Pyrolytic oil has a complex composition. After purification, it can replace traditional fuels and be widely used in industrial boilers or kilns. After further purification, it can even be used for internal combustion engine power generation or coal-fired power generation coupling, bringing certain economic benefits to enterprises and effectively reducing energy costs.
