"Low-Carbon Circulation, Green Renewal" — Vary Tech Empowers China Recycling Resources Group to Lead a New Era of Home Appliance Recycling in Hubei

Published on:2025-03-13

In Qichun, Hubei, a green revolution in home appliance recycling is quietly unfolding. The national old for new policy has brought new opportunities to the waste appliance processing industry. How can obsolete appliances achieve efficient, harmless treatment and resource regeneration? Hubei Qichun Xinfeng Waste Appliance Dismantling Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Hubei Qichun Xinfeng), a subsidiary of China Recycling Resources Group (CRRG), has collaborated with Hunan Vary Tech Co., Ltd. to deliver an impressive answer through technological innovation and eco-friendly practices.

Policy Empowerment: Green Upgrade Under the Old for New

By 2025, Hubei Province will fully upgrade its home appliance old for new policy, leading to a surge in demand for obsolete appliance processing. As one of China’s first enterprises to receive subsidies from the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Processing Fund and provincial recognition as a green, intelligent home appliance and furniture old for new recycling operator, Hubei Qichun Xinfeng shoulders the responsibility of advancing appliance recycling.

The newly upgraded harmless treatment and resource recovery production line for waste refrigerators can process approximately 180 units per hour, significantly improving efficiency and providing robust support for the implementation of the old for new policy.

Technology-Driven Innovation: Core Competence for Appliance Renewal

Within Hubei Qichun Xinfeng’s facility, eight modern dismantling production lines operate efficiently. The most notable is the next-generation waste refrigerator harmless treatment and resource recovery system, supplied by Vary Tech.

This marks the second collaboration between the two parties. The system can process various small and large refrigerators, as well as materials from washing machines, air conditioners, TVs, computers, and small appliances, demonstrating exceptional flexibility.

The process includes high-value component removal, fluorine extraction, compressor treatment, refrigerant recovery, and pre-treatment stages such as crushing and sorting. Wanrong’s flagship crushing equipment—a combination of dual-shaft shredders and vertical crushers—produces uniform, standardized crushed materials, enhancing downstream physical sorting efficiency and resource value. Multi-stage sorting technologies, including magnetic separation, eddy current separation, airflow sorting, glass vibration screening, and copper-aluminum color sorting, achieve high recovery rates: 99% for iron, over 97% for plastics, and 99% for copper and aluminum.

The fully automated, intelligent management system ensures efficient operations. To enhance environmental performance, the production line is equipped with dust collectors, activated carbon towers, UV photolysis systems, and other air purification technologies, ensuring emissions comply with national standards. Pre-treatment areas feature patterned steel plates for a worker-friendly environment, while nitrogen injection systems further improve safety and sustainability.

Waste-to-Resource: Environmental Benefits of Circular Economy

In Hubei Qichun Xinfeng’s warehouse, sorted copper wires, iron blocks, plastics, and other recycled materials are neatly stacked. A single refrigerator can yield over 10 types of materials, many of which re-enter production chains for appliances, construction materials, and more, achieving true resource circularity. Calculations show that processing 1 ton of waste appliances reduces CO2 emissions by 4.7 tons. With Hubei Qichun Xinfeng’s annual capacity to process 2.08 million units, the yearly carbon reduction reaches nearly 1 million tons.

Despite policy support and technological advancements, challenges remain, including informal recycling practices and the need for innovation in dismantling next-generation appliances.

As a pioneer in waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) recycling, Vary Tech has dedicated nearly 20 years to the industry, serving CRRG subsidiaries in Shandong, Henan, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Yunnan, Ningxia, and beyond. This collaboration with Hubei Qichun Xinfeng effectively drives Hubei’s circular economy for home appliances.

Moving forward, Vary Tech will continue leveraging its leadership to advance the WEEE recycling industry toward higher efficiency and intelligence, contributing significantly to carbon peak and neutrality goals while promoting global sustainable development.
